A Breathing Monument to Scottish Hospitality
The Castle
A popular visitor and tourist attraction, Glamis Castle in Angus, is a monument to Scottish hospitality and tradition - a place of laughter, enjoyment and wonder for all.
The family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kingshorne since 1372, Glamis is a living, working castle that has observed over 600 years of history and boasts intrigue, secrets and many wonderful stories.
As the childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (she being the youngest daughter of the 14th Earl), and Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret (born here in 1930), this beautiful "French style chateau" has close connections to our current Royal family.
Guided sightseeing tours of the Castle are given regularly by the local people of Dundee and Angus to keep the Glamis historical tradition alive.
