"Making a Difference in your Communities" Midlands Conference
4th April 2014

"Making a difference in your Communities" was the theme of the Annual Midlands Crimestoppers Conference held by the independent, unique crime fighting charity on Thursday 13th March at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.
It was a very successful event acting as a call to action to those who want to assist in tackling crime and helping to "make a difference" in their local communities. The Conference provided a platform for speakers, delegates and exhibitors to share good practice by working together. Public, private and third sector organisations were involved in helping to reduce crime and identifying offenders, while it was also an opportunity for awards to be given to those within Crimestoppers and those organisations with whom we work in partnership.

I am pleased to report that your local West Mercia Crimestoppers Committee won two Awards. The first went to our Committee Secretary, Joy Muir, for "Crimestopper of the Year" (See pic). Our congratulations go to Joy, who was chosen out of 85 nominations. The second went to our West Mercia Committee which won runner up, "Highly Commended" out of nine committees across the East and West Midlands. Our Committee has undertaken several new campaigns and innovative ideas including this blog, so my thanks go to Mary Collin for working with us.

Well done to all our volunteers. If you would like to find out more about volunteering for Crimestoppers please go to crimestoppers-uk.org
