Leisure Leagues charity fund backs local man

Bookmark and Share

I was really heartened to hear about one of our local heroes, Dan Fox.

Dan, and his fellow volunteers from the Meal A Day Fund have recently returned from Sierra Leone where they installed water supplies in a slum area, Kroo Bay, near the capital Freetown.

Kroo Bay lacks even the most basic of sanitation and the water taps which Dan helped to install will improve the quality of life there tremendously.

Dan hopes to return to the area soon to help improve conditions at the local hospital.

Leisure Leagues, based in Warwick and Europe's largest provider of 5 & 6 aside football leagues, is the only league organiser to donate all its profits to charities and environmentally sustainable projects. Leisure Leagues sent football kits over with Dan so that the taps could be "unveiled" with a game of football. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
