The Blue Vinny is a pub and food restaurant serving the best quality, locally sourced, LOCAL produce at extremely reasonable prices.
We're based in Puddletown, just a few miles from Dorchester and with a big pub garden, we welcome families, couples, parties and dogs!
We are members of Direct from Dorset - an organisation that promotes Dorset products and the businesses that make and sell them.
So - our chicken comes from very local farms and we use only free range meat and eggs. Every dish is prepared from scratch on the premises and apart from the bread and the ice cream, we hand make everything on the menu!

Pub lunches and a la carte food
We offer a great variety of dishes in the restaurant and our menu is changed regularly. We have specials on the board each day and our prices range from £4.50 for a starter up to £15.50 for a rump steak cooked just as you like it.
We have a great choice of pub classics such as The Blue Vinny burger and sausage and mash. And we make everything from scratch each day so our burgers are 100% free range beef and served with hand cut chips.
From a choice of baguettes, sandwiches and snacks for lunch (or choose what you like from our full menu) right up to a delicious evening meal, freshly prepared on the premises, The Blue Vinny is a true delight of a pub restaurant, serving high quality food at extremely reasonable prices.
What's on the menu?
Starters:
- Freshly made soup of the day
- Chicken satay skewers with wok fried noodles, Pak Choi and Teryaki sauce
- Garlic roasted portabello mushrooms with goats cheese served with tomato and basil chutney
Main courses:
- The Blue Vinny beefburger with smoked bacon and gruyere cheese, served with hand cut chips
- Confit belly of pork with black pudding, caramelised apples, bubble and squeak and red wine jus
- Rump steak served with hand cut chips.
- Smoked haddock, crab and spring onion fishcake served with salad and homemade tartare sauce.
Every Sunday from 12 - 5, we serve a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
We'll often have rosemary and garlic leg of lamb or a tender topside of beef - just ask us what's on the menu this week.

Traditional pub entertainment
The Blue Vinny is a lively pub with lots going on. Don't miss our Bank Holiday Monday August extravaganza. Join us for a barbecue and live music. (We won't be serving food from the menu, but there will be a well stoked barbie all day!)
We have live bands joining us throughout the year and quiz nights every other Sunday. Starting at 8pm with teams of four, we have cash prizes, prize draws and bottles of wine to give away.
We also have our own darts team and we're looking to start a football league.
