The Sandwich Chamber have been able to provide increased business support this year by raising the profile of schemes to assist small businesses such as the 'Business Rates Hardship Relief Scheme' and 'Seeda funded Energy Grants' to make sure that they are easy to comprehend, apply for, and most importantly, fully utilised.

In 2009 The Sandwich and District Chamber of Commerce committed to making the town attractive to both visitors and tourists by becoming part of the national 'In Bloom' neighbourhood scheme. This provided a unique opportunity for local businesses to work with members of the community to create a 'wow factor' with floral displays throughout the town centre, created or sponsored by local traders.
'In Bloom', has now become an annual June event as part of the National In Bloom Competition and seeks to gain both national and international promotion for Sandwich town as it is also the oldest Medieval town in the UK.
Sandwich will face fierce competition from some of the most beautiful towns in the UK but undoubtedly will have one of the most attractive displays given our fabulous micro climate here in South East Kent!
Getting Sandwich on the Map!
New for 2011 will be the launch of a series of food themed events which will catapult Sandwich and the surrounding Deal and Dover area into the spotlight by virtue of its name. Everyone eats this best loved snack on a daily basis, and now everyone will have heard of Sandwich the place via national TV advertising with Walkers Crisps.
The aim of the events, are to bring visitors and income into the town to help it prosper and flourish. More income equals better facilities, jobs, and more available funds to preserve Sandwich Heritage and bring it alive!
