Absolutely superb!! Jane and Paul were excellent from the initial contact, through to returning the van after an excellent weekend. The attention to detail was exceptional. Everything you would need for a weekend was in the van. We didn't use it for camping as the weather in the weeks prior had been dire, so opted for a hotel break. However the plan is to re-hire in the summer and experience everything the 'van has to offer. The driving experience was good. Once you got used to the lack of power steering, and a handbrake in the dashboard, it was an effortless journey. We spent the weekend driving along the Kent and Sussex coast, and 'Anni' coped vwry well with the hills!It has been a long term dream of my husband's to own a VW campervan, and this trip has increased his yearning 10 fold!I would recommend everyone to rent a retro camper. It will put a smile on your face, and those around you and make you realise that life should be enjoyed at a slower pace.

I'd decided at an early stage prior to our Wedding day that I really wanted to take my new wife away in a retro campevan for a special, quirky and exciting honeymoon.
After carrying out research on-line I was delighted to find Rent-A-Retro so close to our home. I was so happy that I had found them too, Paul and Jane were superb from the very off. They helped me make important decisions and ultimately made the whole process of hiring such a fab vehicle, really very easy.
Anni was absolutley great and both my wife and I continue to look back on our little honeymoon adventure in her with such fond memories.
The whole experience was everything we could have expected and so much more. We both hope to do business with Paul and Jane again in the future and hope we can take Anni or indeed another of their wonderful vans away for another adventure.
If you are thinking of taking the plunge and hiring one of Rent-A-Retro's campers then all I can say is...DO IT. You will love it!

Thank you so much to Jane and Paul at Rentaretrocamper for our wonderful summer holiday in Olive. It took some time to get used to driving a 1970's van but she took us all the way to the New Forest and back and was admired everywhere she went. Our 4 year old still talks about Olive as if she was a (much missed) member of the family and has drawn some great pictures of her! Olive really does come with everything you could possibly need for the perfect camping holiday and we were so sad to say goodbye to her at the end of the week.
Also, thank you Jane for lifts to and from the station and for always making us feel that nothing was too much trouble. May rentaretrocamper go from strength to strength.

We have just returned from a week touring Cornwall and Devon in 'Olive', one of Rent a retro campers VW t2 campers.We collected her fully stocked with more than enough to see us through our week including food and an additional tent. We covered around a thousand miles and she never missed a beat which, considering her 37 years is nothing short of fantastic. The quality of her restored condition and faultless performance are an enormous credit to Paul.
We spent an unforgettable, happy week with Olive and will be returning to Paul again next year. We simply cannot praise Rent a Retro Camper highly enough and recommend her to anyone.

Just like to write to say how we loved our trip away with 'Olive'. You were both so helpful in letting us book our trip last minute, and your advert is so true, 'just turn up and go'. Everything you require for a camping trip is in 'Olive', making the experience simple and accessible, and having the bike rack was so easy to use. We have already recommended 'Olive' to our friends and we hope to be using her again soon. We loved how other VW beetles and camper vans wave to us on the road.... which I continued to do after we had handed her back, forgetting I was no longer in Olive.

Wow, what a great weekend! Every step of the way from booking to the reluctant handover, was excellent. We booked via e-mail which was prompt, clear and totally hassle free. All that we could wish to know was explained and our specific needs were accommodated. We had booked Anni which being a left-hand drive, and not having driven one for a long time, I was a little nervous of, I shouldn’t have been. Paul was great at the handover, calm and patient, I felt immediately at ease – all questions answered and Anni was fabulous. It took a few minutes to get hold of ‘real’ driving again and all that entails, but I enjoyed moment of it, Perfect!
This was the first time my wife, daughter and I had ever done anything like this. The bed was by far big enough for the three of us, which my daughter thoroughly liked (I’m 6ft 1 and no feet hanging).
Would we do it again – ‘at the drop of a hat.’ Only problem I have now is convincing my wife we can’t buy one just yet!

Rented a camper for long weekend and was pleased with the choice. Classic VW van but with a retro interior and fully equipped with everything for a great camping trip.

We returned this afternoon from a wonderful four days spent with 'Anni", The service that we recieved from Paul and Jane was impeccable.
'Anni' was a dream to drive and equipped with every concievable camping item needed for the trip. As the company mission statement says 'Just bring your clothes and Go' and we ceratinly did just that.
The vans are maintained to a very high standard and the cleanliness is beyond Kim and Aggie's levels.
It was such an amazing experience to get away from our normal hectic lifestyle and sit back and enjoy 'VW camper' life.
It was an emotional experience having to say goodbye to her. Very highly recommend this company to anyone and everyone young or old, it will give you a holiday not to be forgotten.

My 11-year-old, Alfie, and I went off in Olive for perhaps the most fun holiday we've had. We headed for the surfer's mecca of Polzeath in Cornwall, parked up on a beachside campsite, where we were the coolest vehicle there, and unleashed our respective inner hippies. The wettest summer in living memory did nothing to dampen spirits. We spent many happy hours playing board games on Olive's table (which kept sliding off until we discovered wheel-levellers) while Biblical rainstorms proved without a doubt that Olive is leak-proof! There was a strange assortment of animals lining up, two by two, outside the door at one stage... Altogether a fab holiday. We learned to surf despite the weather - and sorry we broke one of your break-proof glasses!

We rented Annie for a weekend in August and we really couldn't have been more impressed with the van or the service from Rent a Retro Camper. I would highly reccommend this business and will definitely use this company again!

I thought I would let you know that we hired one of Paul's VW camper vans for the weekend to use as a wedding car and for the bride & groom to be able to spend a romantic night in it by the sea.

The car was immaculate with everything in it that one could want for camping. Everything seemed new and he had gone to a lot of trouble even to the point of checking what food and drink to put in the fridge! There was even a little heart hanging from the rear view mirror.

Very efficient and helpful - a pleasure to do business with. He obviously takes a pride in what he does. We would certainly use him again and are very happy to recommend him to others.

We hired "Anni" over Easter for a trip to France - not only is Rent a Retro Camper the only company that allows their vans to be taken over the channel, but "Anni" came equipped with everything and more that we needed for a great trip. We had a great few days away in ʼAnniʼ. Paul made it very easy to organise. Anni is lovely and very well equipped with everything thought of. Canʼt recommend highly enough.
