The Kent Air Ambulance Trust is a life saving air ambulance that serves the people of Dover Deal and Sandwich Kent. It is a charitable organisation that receives no government or national lottery funding. All funding for this charity is from the generosity of the people and organisations of Kent.
Helping to save lives
Since its foundation in 1989, this charitable organisation has expanded to provide a 365 day a year service covering the 5,000 sq. miles of Kent which includes the Dover Deal and Sandwich area.
The medical profession is strongly of the opinion that a patient’s chances of survival are far greater if they reach hospital care within one hour – “The golden hour”. KAAT gets the paramedic on scene fast, the patient to hospital care fast and frees up land ambulances for front-line work.
Now the helicopter and its crew are on stand-by for 365 days a year and can reach almost anywhere in the region within 15 minutes and often quicker, to provide the crucial patient care.
