We love to go to the Band concerts at Deal. Yesterday the 10th July was very special to rededecate the bandstand in memory of the 11 musicians who were killed on September 22nd 1989. The Royal Marines Band were superb There were thousands attending. It was a great day and so very moving and to see and hear from many Deal people how dedicated they all are and supportive of those families and the wounded who also came.
An event like this makes me proud to be English.

The free Sunday concerts at the Memorial Bandstand in Walmer are a great asset for Deal and the annual Royal Mariines event in July is a true phenomenon. The Bandstand is a very fitting memorial for the victims of the IRA bomb in Deal and deserves all the support we can give it and the good people who look after it and do all the fundraising and organising.

A great landmark and memorial providing Deal with some excellent free summer music concerts. If you havent been, I reccommend you take a picnic and your family soak up the sun and enjoy the music!
