Give yourself time! For a wedding start the serious planning at least 18 months before the date if you can.

If you want to get married in a church, check it is available on your planned date before you do anything else – it might seem obvious but many a couple have been caught out this way and booked reception venues before securing the church!

Plan your guest list carefully and expect to revise and revise. When you know your limit, prioritise your guests and invite them in batches. Make sure your RSVPs state exactly who is coming and make it clear whether the kids are invited – or not!
