Darling and Stephensons, Solicitors in Darlington and Barnard Castle - When you need legal experience to matter.

Meeting small business and individual clients' needs (except crime, personal injury claims, immigration and admiralty law)

Keeping clients informed-informed as to the law, the options available, the progress of the matter and costs.

Ways we differ from most solicitors:

We deliver our conveyancing services in a different way that means we are usually ready to complete a purchase of a residential property within two weeks and a remortgage within one week of receiving mortgage instructions.

For debt recovery, we offer fixed fees for every step necessary to recover an undisputed debt from the solicitors' letter (at only £25.00 plus VAT) through to Court proceedings to enforcement of judgment.

We sue solicitors (and other professionals) too. As members of the Solicitors Negligence Panel, we provide initial free one hour consultation, including perusal of papers to see if you may have a claim worth pursuing.

I feel I must write to express my thanks for a job well done. Your Debt Recovery Executive Susan Welch was successful in recovering a long-standing debt for the company. I found Susan’s professional and efficient manner inspired confidence, she is a credit to your company, I will not hesitate to use your company in the future

You were very helpful, friendly and forthcoming with any information. I thought that with the person handling the matter leaving everything would have slowed down, but it never, and to me that is what a very good firm is. Thank you very much.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank your conveyancing staff for their excellent and professional service during the work on our recent sale and purchase. Justine Wardle and her assistant worked on our file, and were efficient, helpful and patient during many (often fraught!) phone calls and visits through the process. Justine moved things forward as quickly as she could, she dealt with mis-communication and non-communication from the buyers’ solicitors swiftly and efficiently. This enabled us to complete within the requested dates, and we were delighted to move not only before Christmas, but before November! I would have no hesitation in recommending your conveyancing team to anyone buying or selling a property.

I would like to mention the high quality of service offered by Darling & Stephensons while acting for our company in a lease renewal. I was particularly impressed with the standard of communication, both written and verbal, which was always straightforward and clear. Therefore, I will have no hesitation in recommending the services of Darling & Stephensons in the future.

What you and your company managed to achieve in a matter of weeks just goes to show the difference between working with a professional and somebody who claims to be one. What I thought would always remain a pipedream of mine, with your help, has now become a reality and I cannot begin to thank you enough.
