Struggling Quakers

Football fans will wish Colin Todd success as he works hard to pull Darlington out of danger. It is hardly surprising that they are on the bottom after what has happened, with last season's best players able to walk away.

The Quakers climbed straight back after they dropped out of the league last time. But it's highly unlikely they could do so again. The Blue Square Premier is littered with Darlo's former rivals like Oxford, Mansfield, Luton, York and Cambridge, all struggling to get back into League 2. Some will never make it.

Let's hope Todd can conjure up some wins and banish thoughts of slipping down among that lot. Decent crowds will never return to the Arena until the team serves up some attractive fare and we move away from the danger zone.
