In the driving seat at the Croydon Council employee benefits roadshow

Yesterday Emma of thebestof Croydon popped down to the Council roadshow to see what was going down at the event - set up by Croydon Council to promote local Croydon businesses to their employees... and what a hive of activity it was!

The roadshow was set up to promote the employee benefits scheme to the huge number of staff employed by the Council. As so many Council employees not only work but live in Croydon too, it's the perfect audience to engage with the idea of buying locally and supporting businesses right on your doorstep.

Two bestof Croydon members, Frost Estate Agents and Charlotte of London were set up in the canteen and were thoroughly enjoying the buzz and atmosphere of the event. With lots of Council staff checking them out, talking business and learning more about the local enterprises in Croydon, it was a great way for thebestof businesses to promote themselves to a proportion of the Council's 10,000 strong workforce.

Emma said, "whenever I go to an event like this it really highlights the importance of getting your name out there in your local community - and the employee benefits scheme from the Council is a great way for local Croydon businesses to do just that.

After all, most of the time when you're buying a service or using a business, you don't just buy the product but you buy into the people behind it, and for Council employees the added bonus of the benefits scheme makes it even more attractive.

It's time to get vocal about local!"
