I see in this week's Croydon Guardian that the Borough Council has launched a service for residents to report antisocial behaviour. The new round the clock service ensures that residents can report incidents at any time of the day or night, and there will also be a text option available soon.
The scheme works by using Neighbourhood Enforcement Officers to respond to calls during the daytime, then utilising the council's CCTV control room during the night, who can dispatch their own mobile dog units, alert police, or co-ordinate follow-up action.
I think this is a fantastic idea, and hope it will make a big difference to local people when others aren't being so considerate.
