The Power of Meditation

Amanda Lund- Batchelor is a business administrator and virtual PA for a number of local businesses. She is a friend of mine through the business networking we do at a local group. Amanda also happens to be a meditation teacher through a second holistic therapy business she runs.

She told me recently that she is always being asked, as a meditation teacher,

• What is meditation?
• What is the difference between meditation and relaxation
• How can meditation help me?

The answer she generally gives is that meditation, simply, is “focused relaxation”.  It is being physically relaxed but with an alert, focused mind.
Relaxation is just relaxing the body from its everyday activity and doesn’t require any discipline of mind.  However relaxed the body is, if the mind is still active, stillness and peace cannot be achieved and you cannot be truly rested.  Meditation is focussed practice for the mind whilst relaxing the body.

With twenty years experince of the benefits of meditation, Amanda's view is that it has helped people overcome great difficulties, including both physical and emotional  pain.  It allows you to develop your true nature; a greater level of compassion, patience and forgiveness. But. simply, it is the greatest release from the stresses of modern life, giving you peace, clarity and a sense of wellbeing.

If you would like to experience meditation for yourself and see the difference in you, give Amanda a call on 01342 842098.

Hi there. Welcome to my blog. I run a fascinating and popular business called thebestof Crawley. When I am not working with great local businesses who have been recommended to us I enjoy family life and am also very keen on golf, racketball and cars.
