"I'm a Celebrity , Get Me out of Here" is by no means the newest TV reality show going, but it seems to have captured the imagination with the British viewing public. The sight of B,C,D and even Z list celebrities crunching their way through various insects, animal private parts and foul smelling indiginous fauna is enough to make anyone be ill, yet we still watch it in our millions.
But what do you know about the location?
Well, of course, everybody knows it is filmed in Australia and I expect most people know it is filmed in the state of Queensland, but do you know any more about the location.
First things first, the posh hotel that the celebs get to stay at before they head into the jungle is the 6* Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast, just 1 hour or so south of Queensland's capital Brisbane
The so called jungle is not a jungle at all, but is in fact Springbrook National Park which is a World Heritage site. There are 3 different areas of the park and these are Springbrook Plateau, Mount Cougal and Natural Bridge.
Although this park seems a long way from the high rise hotels of the Gold Coast, it is in fact only a 45 minute drive away, and well worth a day trip. However, if you visit between December and March, take a brolly, as this is when most of the 300cm of rain fall arrives.
So there you have it, whether you love or hate the show, you cannot fail to be blown away by the magnificence splendour of the Springbrook National Park aka "The Jungle"!!
