Litter and graffiti removed from Corby Old Village

An action-packed week to tackle litterbugs and louts has left Corby Old Village looking cleaner and prettier.

Police joined forces with Corby Council, the fire service, the Community Payback Team and the Youth Offending Team to tackle anti-social behaviour and litter in Corby Old Village this week.

Overgrown trees and bushes were trimmed, rubbish was removed from alleyways and graffiti was removed.

Corby Village Community Association secretary Pat Cousin said:

“On behalf of the community centre, I would like to express thanks to the people on community service who did a litterpick in very bad weather.  What a difference it has made to the Charter Field in the Old Village and the surrounding area. We hope people who use the Charter Field will make more use of the litter bins provided and leave the park in the clean condition it is now.”

Let's hope everyone either takes their rubbish home with them, or does use the litter bins provided - it makes such a difference for everyone!
