So, we all might be residents of Corby City soon! How cool would that be?
Well, you all might be thinking "never in a million years", but you tell that to the new mayor of Corby - Cll Gail McDade.
And if you are anywhere near The Corby Cube at around 8.00am tomorrow morning (Friday 27th May), you might catch a glimpse of The Mayor and some strangely dressed folk depicting some of Corby's history over the years, about to start their journey down to London to personally deliver Corby's bid for City status to the Cabinet office!
And if you are checking the date, it's definately not April 1st. I assure you this is a serious application to emphasise the town's recent development, growth and ambition.
As the Mayor says, "Corby doesn't do anything by halves! The bid was never going to be received through the post"
This bid reflects the heritage, determination and wonderful spirit of the people of Corby and long may it continue!
