The Derwentside ME Support Group is part of a network of groups under the banner of ME North East.
This regional charity covers an area from the Scottish borders to North Yorkshire. There are an estimated 10,000 people with ME in the north east, of these approx 1750 are young people from below 5 up to 25 years.

The charity was formally established in July 2000 and presently has around 1200 members of which 220 are young people.
