Care, Comfort, Compassion

Willow Burn as a hospice is committed to improving the quality of life for adults who have a life limiting illness and their families. Our aim is to support you in managing every challenge that you may encounter.

Willow Burn Hospice offers 4 in-patient beds, day services, out-patient clinics and 'Hospice at Home' support 24 hours a day, including by telephone. There is a team of dedicated volunteers but salaries for specialist care staff, equipment and the building need community-wide support.

The Hospice at Lanchester, near Consett gets only 30% of its funding support from government grant, they rely for the rest on 'the generosity and warmth of Derwentside people.'

Elddis also pledged 15pence to the hospice for every mile the cab travels, aiming to raise £50,000 over 3 years but are urging the public to visitwww.justgiving.com/trucking4willowburnand donate in an innovative 'offset' where the visitor 'buys miles' for the hospice. Mercedes Benz and Bell Truck Sales, Newcastle have donated £2,000 to help 'get the truck rolling'.
