Jane Robson Dance School is the long-established dance, theatre AND dance fitness centre for Consett, Derwentside and The Wear Valley.
Movers and shakers..
The Dance School moved in 2007 across Derwent Street into large, refurbished premises with 2 airy studios and comprehensive Dance and costume shop.

Showcasing and pantomiming..
The dance school has a lively calendar of events (publicised in Events tab, see top of article) including its own shows and Christmas pantomime. Classes of children and adults regularly perform dance, song and theatre pieces at The Lamplight Theatre Stanley, Empire Theatre Consett, and Consett Civic Hall.
Modern or classic ...
Ballet dance classes remain a classic - boys and girls receive professional grounding, with a full IDTA Syllabus and examination program.
Tap and Salsa are great fun and efficient exercise for all ages
Or try freestyle/Rock n’ Roll for a more 1960’s jive rhythm.
Make an entrance…
Add some Drama with musical theatre classes, good for confidence building as well as having fun!
Exercise your mind ...
Pilates, used by dancers to improve their posture and tone the body is popular as a stress reliever.

Fun and relaxed, with good quality teaching, stretching the childrenʼs ability and co-ordination. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds here. New studios are very professional, clean and airy, and the kids love it!
