Football Clubs - Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay Football Club has a history dating back to 1881. Since 1984 they have played in the English leagues and are currently in the Unibond First Division North League.
The club has undergone huge change since 2004 with a new board of directors and in 2005 opened its brand new clubhouse.
The Club has adopted a very strong community focus and in addition to the first team, there are junior sides for boys and girls as well as a very successful ladies section with plans to expand the number of youth teams. The “Tickets for Schools” and “Kids for Free” schemes encourage local school children to attend matches for free.
The club runs a number of “Soccer Schools” throughout the year in order to give local kids an opportunity to improve their skills. Plans to launch a “Centre of Excellence” for the best young players in the area to be developed further are also shortly due to be realised.
The clubs facilities are also used by local childrens playschemes and a variety of local groups.

The first team competes in the FA Cup and FA Trophy which provide the opportunity for progression to play professional football league sides and the potential national media exposure that comes with it.

The Club has good relationships with the local and regional media, with regular off the field features and match reports. The Club is also covered regularly in the national Non-League Newspapers.
