It is Saturday today and after a long week finalising the designs and content of the next issue of the Little Blue Book, I was welcoming a bit of a lie in. I guess my mind must be in overdrive as I spent most of the night awake thinking of all the other jobs I needed to do, until at 5 am I decided to get up and polish off a few jobs before the guests needed their breakfast. Popped in to town and bumped in to Ivan of CLT
Training doing his shopping in Morrisons. Ivan is particularly looking for host families in the Llandudno area and he now pays up to £56 per day for hosting students. Fantastic extra income if you have a spare room or two. His quarter page entry in the Little Blue Book should generate a lot of interest, having already had enquiries from the previous issue when the ad was half the size.
Outside Morrisons Olivia from The John Lynn Academy was busy promoting the Martial Arts School. I told her about the £5,000 prize draw and arranged to pop in next week with some entry forms. She also had some great new fliers promoting the Academy, so she's going to let me have a bundle to distribute for her.
Still finalising the guide, we needed to go and take a photo of our latest awards winner Jo from Clwyd Textiles. She has just won a richly deserved Best Retailer of the Year. While I was there I noticed she now has some expensive looking chandeliers with a very inexpensive price tag. I really liked the black one and couldn't believe it was only £60. Would look great in our lounge.
Last port of call was to see Alan at Dorothy's to proof his ad. Greeted by Alan limping down the road, we were disturbed to hear he had just written off his lovely new van. He should be sitting with his feet up, but no chance of that with a busy shop to run! Great selection of winter plants in now - so call in you will be spoilt for choice. There is also a shop in Abergele.
