When I discovered the FOOD COMPANY a few years ago, shortly after moving to Colchester I could not be more delighted to find that I no long have to travel all the way to London to find some of my native delicatessen such as biltong and dry wors.

The quality, variety and standard of food is highly valued and recommended.

We love The Food Company to bits - the only problem we have with it is that it's impossible to get out of the place without buying all kinds of things we don't need, but are far too good to leave lying around! Fantastic choice, beautiful presentation, and an imaginative approach - all the things you can't and won't get at your local supermarket. And it's great to see so much locally sourced produce, too - keep it up!

My family have been travelling to the Food Company delicatessen for years and years to get their fine food! Whether they've been after some tasty olives, beautifully smelly cheese or something extra special for Christmas, The Food Company has always had what we've wanted and more! Just try to leave when you get looking at all the wonderful produce - its impossible!

Whatever part of Essex you live in, this place is worth a trip out to. Gives you a holiday feeling with all the exotic choices under one roof. Fantastic quality foods that makes that dinner party extra special.

Do the shopping, then stop for a coffee and cake upstairs.

Everything under one roof. I love their Italian breads. Buy their homemade chicken liver pate to go with it. If you are looking for some special ingredient, they probably stock it.

This part of North Essex is incredibly lucky to be able to boast this amazing establishment. It really is an alladin's cave full of fine food. Its cheeses, olives and salamis are excellent. They bake their own bread and they have wonderful meat and fish counters. They also have a great cafe and shop upstairs. You could spend hours wandering around the aisles gawping at the huge variety of specialist foods they offer. Truly wonderful.

My family have been going to The Food Company for over ten years. Wherever we have lived in the area, we always gravitate back to this Aladdin's cave of culinary delights. It is easy to spend hours wandering around taking in all the delights. Just as well they have a great cafe in which to take stock. Great experience - highly recommended.
