Are you looking for recommended modern cuisine restaurants in Colchester? Established in May 2011, Mussi's Cafė Bar and Restaurant is already making a name for itself as one of the area's leading brasseries and international restaurants.
Because good food deserves good service...
Run by the Mussi's - a local family with a long history in the restaurant trade - Mussi's Cafe Bar and Restaurant is the perfect destination for breakfast, lunch or dinner, offering relaxed yet stylish dining seven days a week.
Located on Museum Street, which leads up to Colchester Castle, a visit to Mussi's can be as casual or formal as you want; with food ranging from fish and chips to scallops and fillet steak.
Opt for a dish from the Café Bar menu, such as crab cakes with avocado salad, or beer battered haddock goujons with hand cut chips, relax and watch the world go by, or choose to dine in the main restaurant, which is perfect for everyday dining, romantic meals, business lunches and party bookings. Alternatively, why not enjoy the warmer weather and have a meal on the private heated terrace overlooking the castle?
Head chef and restaurant manager, Matt Wilby has spent time working in the US and has cooked for the Royal family. He explains the ethos behind Mussi's Café Bar and Restaurant:
"Everything is almost exclusively made in our own kitchen; for example, if you were to order our char grilled beef burger, you will enjoy a homemade burger in one of our own freshly baked focaccia rolls, served with hand cut chips, homemade coleslaw and homemade relish.
"We also have an extensive wine list, sourced from small, quality producers, so it's unlikely you're going to find the same bottles in your local supermarket! It is this ongoing commitment to fresh food and quality that really sets Mussi's apart from other restaurants in the area."
Why not come along to Mussi's Café Bar and Restaurant to experience its Dedham Vale Steak Nights on Mondays and Tuesdays? There are also a variety of themed evenings throughout the year that celebrate international cuisine, as well as Christmas parties; please visit the website for more information.
