Love chocolate? Love the Chocolate Tart!

Do you remember, in your youth, being told off by elders for getting chocolate all over your hands? "Go and wash that off at once!" "You filthy child!" "Don't touch anything you'll get it everywhere!"

Well, just the other day, my daughter Jenni and I visited The Chocolate Tart in Congresbury for a fantastic evening of chocolate making. I'd met Lisa Clarke, the proprietor, at a Business-by-the-Sea event where she catered for us under her Hedgehog Pie banner. I'd also provided her, via MouseProud, with an email signature to promote her business.

During the evening, instead of the admonishments from younger days, we were told "Yes of course you can lick the chocolate off your hands!" "That's a brilliant chocolate box!" "Go on, get stuck in with bare fingers!"

Our task, expertly instructed by Lisa, was to make a box of truffles. This involved covering the truffles with layers of chocolate by hand (the really messy bit), making a cylindrical box from chocolate complete with star patterns and placing truffles into box then into a plastic presentation display, complete with ribbons! It was like being on the Generation Game! You can see our finished articles below.

The best bit? Being able to take our products home to scoff late at night!

It was so good that we're going to return for a birthday party later in the year - of course, I'll have to drive them there, won't I? And it wouldn't be right for me to just wait in the car - would it...
