Wow who saw the amazing vision of Clevedon on Casualty on BBC1 a week or so ago. The lighting was absolutely fantastic and the pier and the water looked amazing. It got me thinking, what a shame that the footage in the hotel where Nick Jordan was not actually in Clevedon ! Nick Jordan for those of you who don't watch Casualty was spending his final days enjoying Clevedon. He had an ice cream and went for a few strolls and then returned to the most beautiful hotel foyer. He then went to an equally impressive hotel room.
Now it got me thinking ..... what is the best place to stay in Clevedon?
I am certain that the hotel foyer footage must have been in one of the grand buildings in Clifton. Wonderful wooden panelling and tiled floors. My theory about the room is that it may have been Hotel Du Vin. At first I thought, maybe Cadbury House (http://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/clevedon/business-guide/feature/cadbury-house/39976), certainly a fantastic hotel but not quite sure if it was where they filmed it.
The great thing about Clevedon is seeing it on TV. Kate Winslet last summer, Casualty , and Kirsty and Phil have been there too. So always get a real kick when I see Clevedon on tele ! Still wish I knew which hotel got the filming !
