For over 20 years we at Ridgewell House Residential Care Home in Holland-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea, have provided excellent levels of professional long-term and respite care for the elderly. We pride ourselves on having created a home with a close, familial environment. With just 16 beds, unlike some larger homes, we can treat our residents as the individuals they are. Being a small care home, our long-serving staff can involve residents in the day to day running of the home, from helping out with the gardening to picking the menus and offering choices of meal and bath times which would not be possible in a larger establishment. We have developed a fine balance between providing dignified care and promoting independence - we don't force our high standards of emotional, social, physical and spiritual support on our residents - just have them readily available for when they're wanted.
Ridgewell House Residential Care Home in Holland-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea, is a family run home, owned and managed by Mrs Duna Ibrahim, boasting practising GP Dr AR Al-Sayed as the registered person. Our skilled and experienced management lead a team of 16 well-trained carers available 24 hours a day. We receive regular visits from hairdressers, GPs, chiropodists and other professional support services. Each month also sees a non-denominational service held at the home by a visiting clergyman. A laundry service is available for residents in the home, delivering washed, dried, aired and ironed laundry within 24 hours. We employ a professional gardener to keep the home's substantial garden beautiful as well as a housekeeper and dedicated cook.
Ridgewell House itself consists of two lounges, a dining room (which sports a piano), well-equipped kitchen, garden shed, summerhouse and of course the bedrooms. The bedrooms have nurse-call buttons, telephone points and thermostatic - control radiators so residents can choose how warm their own room is all year round. All of these rooms are contained within an attractive two-storey property on a quiet residential road close to the seafront in Holland-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea.
