Clacton-on-Sea's retailers and other traders have developed an exciting and unusual new loyalty card programme, to be known as CITAP (Clacton Independent Traders Association Programme.)
Local businessmen want to fight back against the recession. They have grouped together to provide each other with business support and networking and developed a programme that is free for both the trader and the consumer.
This is based around a loyalty card scheme aimed at increasing local spending. What makes this unusual is that it has not been confined to just one company but currently has over 95 members from butchers to florists to builders and many more.
All the companies have agreed to give that little extra something to all their customers who join the loyalty card programme and this can range from a discount to free items. Each offer will be unique to the individual business.
This is designed to stimulate and encourage the public to spend their money with businesses locally before using the internet or multi national companies.
The programme is a non - profit organization developed to increase business in the Clacton-on-Sea, Little Clacton, Great Clacton, Jaywick and Holland areas and will also provide Business Support and Networking for local traders.
Mr Kim Ward of It’s Only a Dent Ltd in Clacton-on-Sea has set the up the program and thanks to the donation of materials from local businesses has managed to keep this initiative free to all.
Membership cards for the public are now available from all participating businesses in the Clacton-on-Sea areas mentioned above.
