Hello everyone,
It's Poppy back again.
Well, you will no doubt have read what happened to my chum Tibby recently, when he had reason to visit the vet. I have to say that much the same thing happened to me on Thursday evening.
I realised that something was afoot (or should I say apaw) when I spotted my humans skulking around and trying not to make eye contact with me.
Add to this their mumbled and furtive comments, ie., "get ready to grab her" and "watch she doesn't nip behind the settee", and I was left in no doubt just what this was all leading to.
I then heard the unmistakable sound of the dreaded carrier being prepared for me, and so quickly jumped in to the enclosed bed area on our big activity centre. I heard my humans comment that they would have trouble getting me out - exactly why I did it, and I intended to make it as difficult as possible for them to extract me from this small area; I wasn't coming out easily!
One human took a deep breath and pulled me with all her might and main, begging me to release my grip and saying "let go, sweetie, there's a good girl".
Do they think I'm stupid..?
Every time my human released one paw I held on even tighter with the others, and so it carried on like this for a few minutes - I was quite happy whilst my human wasn't, puffing and panting away!
Eventually I gave in and loosened my grip, and popped out like a cork from a bottle, much to my human's great relief. Then, just like poor Tibby, I was unceremoniously bundled into the carrier - the door was shut very smartly to prevent my planned escape (it was done too quickly, even for me).
I then started to meow loudly and pathetically, and continued to do this all the way to the Vet's in Colchester. My humans take me to Colne Valley Vets, which is where Tibby goes, and I was lucky to see my favourite vet Ben. He checked me over and gave me a clean bill of health, and, best of all, had lots of cuddles
with me - he's so lovely, and always makes a very big fuss of me.
Well, now I've got that off my chest, I'd like to tell you about another two missing pussycats, and ask you to keep a lookout for them, please.
