Here's some news from Sally & Judith at Caxton Books about forthcoming events;
"We thought you may be interested in hearing about some of the events we have planned for the next few months.
Firstly, we are delighted to announce that we have Martin Bell coming to the Golf Club on Friday April 16th to talk about his new book - 'A very British Revolution' - about the expenses scandal. He will also be talking about his life as a BBC reporter and Independent MP. Tickets for this are £18, which includes a two course supper with coffee.
Secondly, Cllr Robert Bucke, Mayor of Frinton and Walton, is organising a Cinema Event on Saturday 24th April at McGrigor Hall to raise funds for the various local charities he is supporting. He has invited people to vote for the film they would most like to see and then at the end of March, the film will be announced and tickets will go on sale here in the shop. In the meantime, if you would like to put forward your favourite film, then please pop into the shop or email and we will add it to the list.
Thirdly, we have a book signing with local author Jeanette Phillips on Saturday May 1st in the Book Shop. She has just published her first book called ‘A Ticket to Malta’, a tale of innocent tourists becoming involved in some rather strange events on the Island.
And lastly, for our next Supper Book Club on Thursday 13th May, the author Georgina Harding will be joining us to talk about our current read and her latest book ‘The Spy Game’. Again, tickets for this are £18, which includes a two course supper with coffee.
If you would like further information about any of these events, or to book, please call us on 01255 851505."
