Destination Chesterfield, funded through money from the European Regional Development Fund, Chesterfield Borough Council and local businesses are helping to improve the economic prosperity of the town. The business community is playing a central role in its success by leading an independent board of Directors for Destination Chesterfield and pledging their support to become Chesterfield Champions.

The Champions are developing a coordinated approach for the town by harnessing its strategic location, development opportunities and confidence to promote Chesterfield's role as a contemporary destination, nestled on the border of the world famous Peak District.

 

Over 75 businesses have become Chesterfield Champions from sole traders to multi-national companies. Champions range from Global Brands, producer of the VK brand of drinks to Robinsons Packaging and from Inspirepac to Northern Tea, who supply tea to Harrods. In return for their support, Destination Chesterfield offer a range of senior Chesterfield networking events and promotional opportunities alongside the opportunity to shape how Chesterfield is promoted to the world. These businesses large and small recognize the importance of Chesterfield to their business. Chesterfield is well connected; 15 million people live within a 2 hour drive, direct rail services to London in less than 2 hours, excellent motorway links and 6 major airports within 80 miles.

 

 

The town has a skilled workforce and history for business incubation and growth, there are two Innovation Centres offering the opportunity for start-up new technology businesses to establish themselves and grow.
