Ashgate Hospice
Ashgate Hospice is an independent registered charity (charity number 700636) that provides specialist palliative care (care to relieve pain rather than cure), both in the Hospice and community settings, for adults in North Derbyshire. The needs of the patients, their families, friends and carers are fundamental to the philosophy of the Hospice.
Our aim is to enable people with life-limiting illnesses to have access to appropriate professional assistance and care and to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life in accordance with their wishes. We do not charge patients for the services we provide.
Ashgate Hospice has a full range of services provided by a multi-disciplinary team led by two Consultants in Palliative Medicine and includes: -

These teams all come together to provide the excellent, specialised service that we are renowned for. Ashgate Hospice also provides education, training, support and advice in palliative care to health workers in the community.
Ashgate Hospice employs 130 staff in clinical and support positions helped by 200 volunteers who assist at Ashgate Hospice, the charity shops, and in fundraising.
It costs Ashgate Hospice nealy £5 million a year to provide these valuable services, of which £2.7 million needs to be raised purely through voluntary contributions and fundraising.

We are so lucky to have Ashgate on our doorsteps and I am amazed at how much they need to fundraise every year just to function. The shops are an ideal way to show my support and catch a bargain.
I would never usually dream of shopping in a charity shop but I must say, I was pleasently surprised and will certainly go back. Ashgate is such a worthy cause too!

I shop on a Thursday at Staveley and Chris and Cheryl are the nicest and welcoming person's you could wish for, credit to the shop.

i lost my mum 9 months ago at ashgate. i carnt thank them enough for the way they looked after mum. and supported us. its never easy loosing some1 we love but it made it a little easier having them by our side all the way. the after care they gave dad was also brill help him to cope again. you are all worth your weight in gold. i glad i could give mums things to the shops to help put back into something that helped her the way ashgate did. love to you all
