The Chester Grosvenor’s food and beverage manager Mark Bevan has won an award in the ‘Oscars’ of the hospitality industry.

The 28-year-old was named hotel restaurant manager of the year at the Hotel Cateys 2011 at a glittering awards ceremony in London.

The awards recognize the brightest and the best working in the UK’s best hotels.

It’s a double celebration for The Chester Grosvenor having won the accolade of ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ at the Marketing Cheshire Awards.

Mark, a father-of-one from Chester, joined the hotel in September 2007.

He said: “I am over the moon to be recognised in this way. The Hotel Cateys are very well respected so naturally I’m humbled and thrilled in equal measure to have won.”

Earlier this year Mark picked up an Acorn Award, which aims to identify 30 of the brightest prospects in the hospitality industry under the age of 30.
The Hotel Cateys 2011 are run by industry title ‘Caterer and Hotelkeeper’.
A spokesperson for the Hotel Cateys 2011 said: “Many congratulations to all our winners. The Hotel Cateys were created to recognise and applaud those unsung heroes who work tirelessly to support the UK's hotel sector day in, day out.

“The Hotel Cateys Awards Night has become one of the highlights of the hospitality industry.

“It offers everyone in the hotel industry, in all layers of management and operations across all areas of the hotel sector - a superb opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those in the hotel industry.”
