We had a lovley time at The Pheasant Inn near Chester for good, wholesome, freshly-cooked modern English restaurant fare and wholesome European food. During winter months you can enjoy inviting meals around their open log fire or dine outside in the summer months whilst appreciating the wonderful panoramic views of the Cheshire countryside
Great Food, great Atmosphere, great value what more do you want?Peter G
I frequently enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of The Pheasant by walking there, as part of the Sandstone Trail. I often recommend friends and colleagues to go and also sample the excellent menu provided, which offers fresh exciting menu choices. I have even sampled a New Years Eve hospiitality and would highly recommend that other people also consider it,and the view needs to be experienced. The staff are always welcomming, and the service is of an exceptionally high standard! A place in the Heart of Cheshire to be explored!! Pam B
After a long walk over the hills what a fantastic place to finish at. Great food, real ale superb and the staff so friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. We have been back there several times.Peter B, Wirral
Fantastic place! What a great welcome, the atmosphere is great and the beer and wine choice is superb and I haven't even mentioned the food! All I can say this is one of the most enjoyable places to spend a night out I've been to for a long time. Well done The Pheasant and I look forward to many more great evenings to come!!Alan J
It's got to be one of the best places for a pint of beer in the summer sitting outside looking at that view or in the winter in front of a roaring fire. The staff are always so friendly and food never disappoints. One of my favourite places.Stephanie W

I love The Pheasant Inn and I'm lucky to have it as one of my locals! A stunning building in its own right, amazing location, delicious food, cosy interior and incredible views. This venue is very heard to beat. It's even dog friendly, so after the pooches have had a walk along the Sandstone Trail they get a pint too!Karen F
The Pheasant in Burwardsly, is the place to be, beautiful food and scenery! The views are dramatic and never dull, and the food leaves you warm and comfortably full. The Pheasant is a truly wonderful place. We always go for the weekend just before Christmas and it really sets us up for the festive period. We've been every year for the last 5 years and have booked again already. Absolutely the best.Steven M
The Pheasant is a lovely country pub and is situated in what must be one of the most idyllic settings in Cheshire. I have eaten there many many times and can honestly say I don't have one negative thing to say about this place. The food is delicious, service efficient, staff very friendly and there is always a great atmosphere which when all added together makes for a truly enjoyable experience.Susan S
Wonderful atmosphere, love the sofas by the fire. Good food, beer, wine and friendly staff.Carole D
Where to eat on a miserable Sunday afternoon .The Pheasant in Burwardsley had been recommended and as we were nearby we thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately the place was heaving, must have some good offers on, 2 for 1 etc, but no it was busy for no other reason than the excellent food and service and the beautiful location, which I'm sure is even more stunning on a clear sunny day.Jim R
Whats not to love, the best pub in the area, fabulous views, fabulous food, fantastic staff. It's one of Chesters best kept secret.Mandy M
This is definitely one of my favourite pubs in the chester area. Staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is always so welcoming - especially on a cold winters day when the log fire is roaring! The food is always of an excellent standard and well presented.Gemma M
The Pheasant Inn is a truly lovely place to eat and unwind, with great views across Cheshire, which is especially beautiful at sunset. I have eaten here several time with my partner and family and have not been disappointed. The food is varied, well-presented, reasonable value and - most importantly - delicious! The staff are also very friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Genuinely one of the nicest places to visit in Cheshire!Kelly R
The Pheasant is a regular lunch out for my family, as it has amazing views, especially when the sun shines, and the menu always manages to suit everyone. The staff are always very friendly and make us feel very welcome. I would reccomend taking advantage of not having to drive after a drink and stay the night. The bedrooms are very comfortable. I would say the whole package is worth a visit!Clair-Louise B
I regularly go up to the Pheasant for an enjoyable meal. The food is always top notch and the menu is regularly changed which means that I can try something different every time that I go! Could not fault the place and would definately put this top of my list for best places to eat out in Chester. Natalie P
IThe location of this county Inn is supurb. The views across the Cheshire Plains are stunning as is the quality of food and customer service. The inn has such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere making it feel like a home from home especially as we are allowed to pop in with our pooch after a lovely walk around the Bickerton Hills. Through out summer and winter this really is one of the best country pubs around Chester.Kimberley H

The Pheasant Inn is a 'Home from Home', with comfortable surroundings, friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and scrumptious mouth watering food. The Views from there are spectacular and could be a picture on a Post Card. Big Love going out all the way.Ruth Hannah R
The Pheasant Inn has a lovely atmosphere, we go there for Sunday lunch and it is scrumptious! The staff are always so friendly and really make you feel at home. Hayley M
Friendly relaxed enviroment with fantastic hearty food. In the winter it's lovely sitting by the fire with a hot drink after a walk, and in the summer alfresco dining is a must with great views over the cheshire plains.Victoria Jane S
Have been to the Pheasant Inn a number of times now and each visit, without exception, has been excellent. The menu is extensive with dishes to suit all tastes and the food beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. They offer an informal service which makes you feel very comfortable and at ease in the place, and the staff, although professional, are very friendly and welcoming. Another attraction is the Pheasant's location, the views alone make the trip up there worthwhile! This is without doubt one of my top recommended places to eat. Claire W
This is one of my favourite places to go, great food, efficient friendly service and a great atmosphere. It is particularly nice in the summer when you can sit out in the beer garden with the dogs, atop of the Peckforton Hills, and admire the fabulous views across Cheshire!Louise W
A lovely welcoming pub in a superb location on the Peckforton Hills looking out over the Cheshire Plain to Wales. Very good food and beer, they sell local beers and use local produce in the menu. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's a welcoming pub throughout the year: sitting out on a summer evening with a pint is a particular joy. My wife and I have stayed many times and, in fact, we're both looking forward to staying again in February. Sorry if this review is a bit gushing we just really love the Pheasant. Bob D
Despite not living far away, I have often stayed here as it’s such an incredible place to get away to for a couple of nights especially if it’s for something special. We eat here regularly and the food is outstanding, it really is a truly very special place that everyone should know about.Gail W
A relaxing country retreat in Burwardsley, tucked in a peaceful corner of rural Cheshire with fantastic views over Cheshire, The Wirral and Wales. They offer a fine selection of ales and wines to accompany the fantastic food (new menus printed daily).I have been going for many years and have never had any complaints, be it a quiet drink to admire the view or a cosy night with my partner, The Pheasant Inn really does offer 5 star treatment for pub goers...Andrew M
AMAZING PLACE!! Not only does The Pheasant have undoubtedly breath taking views of Cheshire, the food and accommodation is a cut above anywhere else. By far one of my favourite places. Some of the things that makes this place so superior are the staff who work tremendously hard, the wholesome freshly cooked food and the outstanding accommodation that they have to offer. PB
I absolutely LOVE this place! I go up to the Pheasant a couple of times a month for a meal, the food is delicious and the staff there are great, very friendly and they really do make every effort to ensure you have a pleasant experience. Since I visit so often, it is great for me that the menu changes so regularly and they always have a selection of great specials to choose from also. This really is a very special place and I would definitely recommend giving it a try, you won't be disappointed!DJ
This place is a true hidden gem, a country gastro inn full of character. The Pheasant Inn tops my list on where to eat in Cheshire as the food is always first class, nothing better than freshly cooked homemade food! The staff there are great, always friendly yet professional. You can’t beat service with a smile! In the summer the beer garden is ideal with fantastic views stretching across Cheshire to North Wales. And in the winter the log fires make the place even more cosy and inviting!Dave G
A restaurant with a really great atmosphere. The food is always good, always fresh and it's great that you can access the day's menu on the website that very day. Wonderful views too over the Cheshire Plain. Stephanie W
My wife and I stayed at the Pheasant Inn in early February for one night; this was our second stay at this delightful inn. The service from the staff was excellent; they were all very friendly and welcoming … The atmosphere in the inn is very cosy with open fireplaces overlooking the Cheshire plains. Excellent real ales!! The food is exceptionally good.Helen W
Stayed here for 5 days for business and what a find!! Great view over the Cheshire Plain - nothing better than a decent pint of guest beer with some food off the bar menu. Great welcoming staff that could do anything to make ones stay memorable. Very comfortable rooms … Good hearty breakfast. I would recommend it for either business or leisure stay as well as a meal out with a loved one. Brilliant!Paul C
Arrived at the Inn exhausted after walking the sandstone trail from Frodsham. This location must be one of the best in North West England. We had a couple of drinks looking out onto the Welsh Hills in the distance as the sun set. Checked into room which was comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The evening meal was more than we could eat and excellent quality. The included full English breakfast was one of the best I have had and the service excellent. I will come to this beautiful Inn again. Steve D
