Does it really work?
Yes, says the World Health Organisation, after checking through about 10,000 clinical trials and summarising the evidence. Informed medical opinion agrees, surveys have found roughly 80% of doctor's support the use of acupuncture - indeed, many of our patients are themselves medical professionals. NICE too now strongly supports acupuncture for conditions such as back pain. Our own practice audits show 95% are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the treatment.
How does it work?
We know for sure that acupuncture can regulate brain chemicals and hormones, strengthen the immune system, improve blood circulation and enhance repair of damaged or inflamed tissues. Traditionally it was said to work by stimulating and strengthening energy, supporting normal body function and expelling contaminants.
Although most well-known for treating pain it works for many other conditions successfully too.

Don't people get anxious about needles?
You'll feel only the tiniest pricking sensation followed by an achy-numb feeling. You will probably be surprised at how relaxed and comfortable you will feel.
We are kind and you remain in control!
We use disposable hair-fine needles left in place for 10-30 minutes. Much finer than those used for injections, the discomfort is so slight even small children cope with it.
Is it expensive?
No, this could well be the best healthcare bargain there is! Proper professional medical care never comes cheap but we charge a lot less than most dentists and even many plumbers!
