We called in off the cuff to this quaint pub not expecting much more then pub grub ping out of the microwave. How wrong was! We had the best fish and chips I can say I have never had better anywhere else. The cod was real cod with a light beer batter the chips chunky and hand cut there was home made tartar sauce, mushy peas and a stoke of genious a little jug of chip shop curry sauce. Amazing for something so simple to be cooked this well. We had the small portion that was enough but they do a large as well for about £9.50 ours was £6.00 each - a bargain considering the quality. You can sit up or downstairs (better upstairs) the staff where quick to serve. Cant wait to go back and try the pie that looked fab as well! Just go

We went for Sunday lunch and both ordered the roast beef, it was delicious. It came with lots of veg and a big yorkshire pud and lovely roast potatoes, everything was lovely and hot, just how I like it and it was really tasty. My partner was really happy with the selection of real ales as they had about 5 or 6 I think. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.
