Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya has beautiful lakes and waterfalls and is set in pine forests and green mountains. It is situated at an altitude of 1496 meters above sea level and has long been popular with the British.  They call it "the Scotland of the East”.  This beautiful place, the people and the climate combined together create an amiable atmosphere which the Shillong Indian Restaurant now bring to the city of Chester.

As a teenager the owner, Katchi,  gained his experience working with his uncle Mr A Khan, who was a renowned Master Chef in the 1980s. He ran two famous restaurants in India and Bangladesh named Kasturi, supplying food to the Government and the Foreign Delegates.

In his free time, Katchi  would help his uncle prepare and occasionally assist with the cooking which eventually became a hobby.  In the 1990’s he continued his hobby working for a number of restaurants in London, Dorset, Devon, West Sussex, Surrey and most recently in the West Midlands working with various Asian Master Chefs and further widening his Indian food knowledge.

Katchi is now proud to bring his latest Indian Restaurant , Shillong in Chester, bringing you the premier quality and authentic Indian food, with excellent service and a great atmosphere.

Closed on Mondays (except Bank Holidays)

Tuesday to Thursday - 5:30 pm to 11:30 am

Friday & Saturday - 5:30 pm to 12:30 am

Sunday - 5:00 pm to 11.00 pm

Free car park to the rear as well as ample on road parking from 6:00 pm
