My husband had booked the restaurant for my birthday, but I made a mistake of reading previous reviews and started to wonder if we should cancel and go somewhere else! But I am so glad we didn't. The food and service were fantastic and the waiter even went to the hotel bar to get my husband a lager! The only complaint was that we had trouble reading the menu as it was a bit too dark.

I dined at the Chester MPW restaurant and had a fantastic meal made better by the service given by Mo. The steaks were divine and the service excellent. A real gourmet restaurant at last in Chester. Keep this up Marco and you will soon be as good as Gordon.

We dined here Valentine's weekend as we were staying at the hotel (we chose this hotel because of the MPW restaurant). Food and service were second to none. Both myself and my husband commented it was the best steak we've ever had and believe me we've had a few. Sticky toffee pudding with chocolate sauce for dessert was also very yummy and again probably the best I've had. Yes it is pricey, but for a special occasion, it is well worth it. We will definitely be visiting again in the future. Thanks MPW for making our valentines weekend so special.

We attended Marco's place for the occasion of his latest book launch, and had a great time! Parking was easy, the welcome was warm, and the staff were fantastic.We had a Bellini cocktail on arrival, followed by a starter of Leek Veloute with chicken oysters and a crispy shallot.This was followed by Goosnargh Duck breast, confit leg, beetroot and crab apple served with apple blossom.There was a quick break as we had chance to chat to Marco while he signed our books, and then a gorgeously runny dark chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream.Espressos and sweets were followed by a further chat with Marco to thank him for the evening. Then it was off home for gin! Perfection.
