My wife and I really enjoyed our evening here, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful in a lovley environment we would go again when we are back in the area

Have been driving past Convivio for the last 2 years or so and as my last time in there was when it was paparazzi I finally decided to pop in with my 2 mates. It was a Saturday night and as we walked through the door we all looked at each other and thought not a chance as the place was heaving and a few people waiting in the foyer for tables. An Italian chap asked us if we like a meal or just a drink? We asked how long it the wait and he replied there is no wait as we could have a drink in the lounge bar! Walked into the stunning bar and there was an excellent atmosphere complimented by a great guitarist singer. Despite the bar being busy we were greeted by the barman and ordered a drink. Ten minutes later I'm thinking 'this is my place'. As we enjoying the music the Italian chap came up and asked us if we wanted a table as one become available. He took our drinks and escorted us down stairs to the restaurant. What can I say as soon as our food arrived and had a taste it reminded me of a place I went in Florence 10 years ago! Excellent!!!

We always love visiting this restaurant - the staff are always helpful and friendly and it is nice to be recognised by them. The food is always delicious and we love visiting the place.

I stumbled on Convivio with my girlfriend when we were taking a walk to the race course. We found there was an outside bar with live music being played by a DJ, and a very nice setting of tables all laid neatly with food and cocktail menus, as soon as we entered a very nice waiter greeted us straight away and asked if we would like a seat and a drinks menu, we had chosen some cocktails which were made in front of us at the bar. We were given an express lunch menu to choose from and also a lounge menu which had a lot of pizza and pasta options on it. I asked if they were all made fresh and the waiter said yes. I ordered a Pina Colada cocktail and a picante pizza and my girlfriend had a China Crush and some pasta Convivio. The drinks were very nice but I really loved the pizza and it was the best I have ever had. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were very polite and efficient, I will definitely be going again, I have already booked a table for me and the family as we cannot recommend it more. Great staff, amazing food, very fair price and great atmosphere.

I cannot recommend this restaurant-bar too highly. Their food is fantastic. Last time I went I had the Calzone and I can honestly say that I've never tasted anything like it in this country and I know my Pizzas. The chefs make their own Tortellini which again is as good as you'll get in Italy. I'm not a huge steak fan but my friend had the fiorentina - he can't stop going on about how good it was. What's particularly great about Convivio is that it's not just a restaurant but a venue. The lounge bar upstairs welcomes diners and non-diners alike and we've often been there at the weekends when they have live music. I think it has to be the nicest bar in Chester by far. A really well kept secret - for now at least. No doubt it will start to become busier once the word spreads! Convivio also has an outdoor space and we just love sitting out there these warm spring days - honestly it feels as if you could be in Rome or Paris. So for the best food and ambience in Chester try Convivio - you won't be disappointed. The staff are very friendly too.
