Commercial Inn Hotel, Restaurant and Bar Testimonials

I have been a tripadvisor member for several years but this is the first time ever I have posted a review. Stayed at the Commercial for one night only as a last minute booking for my husband and myself - we had already booked three nights elsewhere in Chester but decided to travel down a day earlier than planned to avoid the bank holiday traffic. Are we glad we did! Everything about our stay was fabulous. The room was furnished and finished to the highest standard, absoutely immaculate, and the service second to none. ( A special thank you to James and Kyle for the brilliant service they provided ) The only downside was that we had to leave to spend the rest of our break elsewhere...and even though it was central spa hotel we much preferred our stay at the Commercial. We have stayed at Chester many times and I can honestly say we had no complaints whatsoever and will certainly be returning.. hopefully very soon!

We have visited The Commercial Inn Hotel for lunch on several occasions since it re-opened, and have been very pleased each time, great service from attentive friendly staff and management, nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit, lovely atmosphere, well done to all concerned!!

Really stylish bar, restaurant and hotel. Great food, atmosphere and lovely rooms. All right in the heart of the city centre in a charming old building, which has been given a modern twist.

Great location, superb accomodation...but quite noisy at night. This hotel is in a fantastic central location, the building itself being really lovely and quite quirky. The hostess is very warm and friendly and really understands how to look after customers - nothing was too much trouble. The room was discounted, as not quite finished. But nevertheless, it was still a fantastic room and was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was a joy to use - the shower a joy. The only downside to our stay was the thudding bass that went on into the early hours. It was loud enough to keep my partner awake and he is one who will normally sleep with no problems, whilst hanging by his ears from the proverbial washing line! I wouldn't let this put you off staying here...as it really is a little gem of a place. Just take some ear-plugs. I had mine with me (due to parner being of the heavy snoring variety) and it was fine with them in.

This will be a lovely hotel when finished. Great room, great service and awesome breakfast. The hotel has a 2am license and have DJs at the weekend, so I would only recommend this place to party animals!

Great time had by all. Immaculate place to stay in the middle of Chester. All the staff were really friendly and full of fun. Would recommend this to all although the bar is open till 2 am which was great for us but if you want peace its not for you. Will return asap.

For location and quality it's a great choice if you want to be central and in the thick of it. The price is more sensible than many in the area for the type of accomodation too. Cleanliness is usually top of my criteria and it felt clean rather than just trying to look it. For us, noise was not an issue as we were in the bar downstairs joining in, but if a friendly crowd enjoying themselves until midnight or maybe 1am presents a problem, then you may struggle a little.

Good quality value for money. Very pleasantly surprised by how nice our room was and the value for money. Really helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant central location for Chester city centre. The only thing I would say is that if you are staying at the weekend (Fri and Sat) you won't get to sleep before 2am. They have a DJ, who was very good but you've got no chance of sleeping until the party stops!!!
