Blackhouse Grill, is a fulsome nod to the classic, yet glorious steak so my wife says as I dont eat meat, along side of which runs a healthy obsession with the freshest of produce from our seas. This excellent English Restaurant in historic Chester makes no apology for offering a combination of popular requests and old favourites.

This place was recommended to us by friends who visited on their trip to Chester! From the moment we walked in to the restaurant on a friday night we felt so relaxed and charmed by both the staff and environment! From the the welcoming lady on the front desk with her huge smile to the very cool and charming live pianist! The food was first class and the service from our waiter was attentive and knowledgable. I will definately be returning here again - you dont need many excuses to visit Chester, but here is another!

This place had come recommended to us prior to our visit and sure enough we were not left disappointed whatsoever! Let's be honest you don't come to this sort of place and quiz the price of a steak or the cost of a bottle of beer and I can say that the meals we had (starter, main course and desert) were all exceptional. We had 'DIY garlic bread' (this is my description by the way not as it is listed on the menu, you basically drizzle your own olive oil and rub a garlic clove onto the bread) which was delicious! Then steak for main course (no surprises there then) and a chocolate and raspberry torte to follow. Truth be known I can't fault any part of the experience. Food was exceptional, staff were attentive and polite, the beer was cold and the price was as expected. I personally recommend the Aberdeen Angus 10oz Rib Eye (Medium Rare) and dare you not to finish every last mouthful, I cleaned my plate!!
