It is with great pride that thebestofchester.co.uk can announce the appointment of its Managing Director Paul Daniels to the main board of Chester City Management (CCM).

Paul succeeds Howard Harrison, who represented small businesses in Chester.

Announcing the appointment, CCM Chairman David Pickering said: “Paul and Commercial Director Steve Nicholls have built thebestofchester into an impressive proactive business-to-business organisation which is currently ranked number one out of all 300 member franchises of ‘thebestof’ stable. They have achieved this through their energy, drive and ability to communicate with a huge sector of our city. Their business has over 360 small-to-medium-sized businesses registered and the CCM board was keen to appoint someone who is intimately connected to this sector. Therefore the board could think of no one better.

“We are looking forward to working with Paul and canvassing the opinion of thebestofchester’s members, both in terms of their trading performance on a quarterly basis and of course their thoughts and aspirations for our great city as we embark on this journey through Renaissance.

“Chester City Management is dedicated to bringing about a better Chester and delivering the goals set out by Chester Renaissance and its board. Enlisting the expertise of enlightened, influential and connected professionals such as Paul is essential if we are to achieve this.”

Paul Daniels said: “It is indeed a great honour and responsibility to be appointed to the CCM board and I am looking forward to playing my part in aiding the business rejuvenation of Chester and ensuring thebestofchester members’ influence is brought to bear on this essential process.”

Trying to find parking for a 10 min dash to chemist on quiet Sunday morning. Parked in back lane behind Lower Watergate Street, not blocking road/exits. Failed to notice "Permit Holders Only" sign. Returned to clamped car. 2 thugs from Clamp Company demanded cash payment of £90. Asking for further proof of ID enraged the pair who called tow truck result: 2 hours to retrieve car. Leaflet didn't state payment had to be in cash but they were insistent. Final cost = £500. Shops backing on to lane apparently responsible for hiring clamping company. Won't shop there again. Visit Chester? Bad enough for residents. Why no "First Time Offence" warning? Why are we mugged by threatening/intimidating people? No reasonably priced parking, CWAC should insist on fair, reasonable, polite behaviour from Clamping Companies. Chester now on list of "unfriendly places to visit". report abuse...
