Chicago – the windy city and the largest lake I have ever seen!
Chicago surprised me in a number of ways – how diverse a destination it is and also just how large Lake Michigan is!
I was not alone in my astonishment of just how big the lake was, mistaking it for the ocean along with my travelling companions! I knew the trip was going to go well, starting out in Manchester travelling Business Class with American Airlines alongside an A list footballer, the 5 days were action packed and fabulous fun at the same time.
Taking in West Side Story, Chicago Fire v Manchester Utd, Chicago Cubs v Houston Astros baseball game, art galleries and museums, lunch at the Penninsula, riding segways along the lake side, trying every staple Chicago delicacy, stepping out onto the Skydeck Lodge hovering on the 103rd floor overhanging the city below, the trip was truly memorable.
Chicago offers culture, shopping, theatre, dining and beach – Yes, beach alongside the lakes edge – making it a perfect destination to suit all tastes. I would highly recommend it along with returning home Business Class with BA to finish the trip in style.
