If you would like to take part then download an application form from the Cheltenham Borough council website.  Those gardens that have applied will be judged from 21st- 23rd July. The Awards Ceremony will be held later in the year.

Categories for the residential gardens are:

  • Front and rear garden
  • Patio
  • Hanging basket
  • Container

Categories for commercial properties are:

  • Shops and nursing homes
  • Hotels and guest houses
  • Pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes
  • Commercial premises

Projects and sustainable gardens are also recognised around Cheltenham, with the Community Project category and an ECO features category.

Adam Reynolds, green space development manager said: "Cheltenham is a town that prides itself on beautiful gardens. These awards will recognise the individual efforts by residents as well as businesses throughout the town. I'm sure it will be tough to pick out a winner, as there are so many quality gardens to choose from."

Councillor Chris Ryder, chair of Cheltenham in Bloom added: "It would be great if residents and businesses of the town could participate this year by entering either a single container or an eco friendly garden, as it is the 50th anniversary of Britain in Bloom which Cheltenham has had long associations with.”

Application forms can be found on: http://www.cheltenham.gov.uk/info/200073/parks_and_open_spaces/570/cheltenham_in_bloom and through Cllr Chris Ryder on: 01242 526464.
