Great food and atmosphere. I liked the way you could see through to the kitchens whilst they worked

A superb idea to have a restaurant inside of an old style Cinema. They have clearly spent a lot of effort, time and money in converting this old building into a top restaurant. The service couldn’t be better, we didn’t have to wait for anything. The food is up there in the top 3 restaurants in Cheltenham. They have a nice pre-dinner bar to sip cocktails before you sit down, so go a little earlier and have a Mojito or two!

A thoroughly enjoyable first time visit, with lovely food and delightful staff. I shall go again one evening when there is live music as I am sure the atmosphere will be excellent and, hopefully, romantic as well.

Walked in to a friendly greeting and was seated at a great table out the way as I had requested. Service was great, water and a chilled bottle of Sancere in a bucket of ice before we new it. Starters were the duck breast and the scallops, both very nice and great flavours. For Mains my girlfriend had the chicken which she loved, I had the fillet steak which was delicious, didn't even need a steak knife it was cooked so well, if I could have managed another I would have had 2nds !Service was spot on. Finished the evening off upstairs at the bar for some cocktails which went down very well. The art deco and feeling of the place is very unique. Will be the only place I will have dinner when I return to Cheltenham, great for couples and groups.

Booking was really easy on the website and even puts an appointment into outlook for you if you want it (albeit with no reminder set). If you've not been before, it's an old cinema and has a nice bar upstairs in the balcony and the kitchen is where the screen would have been - it's lovely - very art deco. We were sat in the middle but asked to move to a corner where it's a bit dimmer which was no problem for them. They have a very extensive menu to choose from so I would have thought even picky eaters would be happy - the prices aren't cheap but the food is fantastic. We totally cleaned our starters and main courses off and couldn't manage desert so just had a coffee upstairs in the bar. It's perfect for a special occasion or treat!

We had a great meal at "The Daffodil". The food was very good and the staff extremely friendly. The most outstanding thing about the Daffodil is the building. It is housed in an old cinema and the food it cooked on the stage, in view of the diners. The old cinema was Art Deco style and the restaurant has been sympathetically designed to show this. A special restaurant - well worth a try if you are in Cheltenham.

We wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary and we couldn't have found anywhere more special. Entering the beautiful building transported us to another place where time slowed down and service mattered. The attention to detail was perfection in everything from the decor and ambiance to the way the beautifully prepared food was plated up and served. We already plan to return to experience the Jazz night on Monday night and would recommend The Daffodil to anyone - in fact we already have to quite a few people.

Great restaurant in a fantastic setting. The food and service were exemplary. The wine was gorgeous with a great choice. It is fairly expensive, but we knew that before we went. But its great for a special occassion. We would definitely visit again.

We had Mothers Day lunch, which offered a fairly short and simple menu. This left the four of us expecting perhaps a rather ordinary standard of cooking but in the event we were all very pleasantly surprised with all of the dishes bar one exceeding our expectations, cooked to perfection and with a number of surprise flavors which matched and enhanced the dishes. Overall very good food indeed. Service was excellent. The environment is unique and atmospheric of particular interest to Art Deco enthusiasts. To be recommended.

Having had many many enjoyable meals at the Daffodil-once again our group of my husband and I and our best friends visiting from Lincolnshire (who have an appreciation of good food/dining)-had a super lunch. We picked from 'The Dalies' menu as the choice was excellent and-we discovered-absolutely delicious and amazing value for the quality. The breast of pigeon on beetroot rösti (incredibly offered as a starter!) picked by 3 of our party was particularly good-a perfect combination of flavours. As always-the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive and the general ambiance a real pleasure. We left replete and very content.

I took my mum for lunch here as a mother's day treat. She used to come to The Daffodil when it was a cinema when she was a young girl and so it was a trip down memory lane for her. We could not fault anything. My mum loved it. Thankyou.

Having had so many disappointing meals out recently my hopes were moderate, this place excelled all my expectations. Excellent food, excellent champagne. Excellent venue, excellent company ( my wife!). The pictures on the site make the place look a bit cavernous...it's not! I would not hesitate to recommend the Daffodil to anyone 10/10

The Jazz evening was a first for us and we thoroughly enjoyed, yes would do it again. We have marked the venue as a Neighbourhood Gem, but we traveled in from Burford. If it was nearer then we would visit more often, particulaly for the Jazz. We liked the set menu but as we had travelled especially for the Jazz then we choose from the main menu. Food was delicious and tasty.. Look forward to coming again.

We went to the Daffodil because our daughter is thinking of having her wedding there. We were very impressed with everything, the decor is very Art Deco, and many of the old fittings from the cinema are still present. The staff were helpful and friendly & the food was out of this world! We will definitely be going again, and I will be trying the ladies lunch specials with my friends.

We were on a visit to Cheltenham for the first time and met up with relatives for dinner at The Daffodil on Saturday 20 Febuary. Wonderful experience. The staff were very attentive and it was fascinating to watch the chefs and theatre kitchen staff so hard at work and who produced the excellent meal we enjoyed.

The venue itself is lovely with decor that illustrates its past life as an art deco cinema giving a warm and sophisticated, yet unpretentious feel. The staff were warming, attentive and very professional providing excellent service. We were late for our reservation - the staff were very accommodating, we wanted to try cocktails but didn't know which ones to choose - the waitress kindly brought the bar man over who described and suggested some that we might like to try (which we definitely enjoyed!) The food was incredible; perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. A very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable evening and we will be sure to return again and would highly recommend the Daffodil!
