The Strand at the top of the High Street has just re-opened for business following a major facelift. The pub is managed by the same team that are responsible for The Royal and The Exmouth - both part of thebestof recommended businesses.
The Strand is a beautiful building and it has been given a great funky new look, plus there’s a gorgeous decked garden area which is a real sun trap. The focus is on real ale with up to six real ales available and an ever changing selection. Live music is another focus with live music every Saturday night and even more events to come. Rich Kestin the manager says; “The Strand has loads of potential and I’m passionate about beer and music so I’m really looking forward to making it work”.
Fabulous freshly cooked food is served every day, lunch and dinner, with favourites such as The Strand Burger, Goats Cheese & Beetroot Salad and Homemade Scampi. There are also some great lunch specials Monday to Saturday such as Ham, Egg and Chips and Haddock and Chips for just £5!
The Strand opens Monday to Saturday at 10am serving excellent coffee and cake, and there’s a 2 for 1 offer on hot drinks weekdays between 10am and 12pm to further tempt you. On Sunday The Strand opens at midday and you’ll always find a Roast of the Day in addition to the normal menu.
It’s also worth taking a peek at the sumptuous function room upstairs which is available for parties and private dining. The basement room will also soon re-open for parties and live acoustic sessions.
So all in all lots on offer in the town’s latest venue, we’d highly recommend a visit.
