Over 200 guests from the Essex Food and Drinks industry were present at these prestigious awards now in their fourth year. This is where the best of the region are recognised for their contribution across 12 different categories. The Society was therefore delighted to win the very first one which was for Pride in Essex. This award highlights individuals and businesses who actively and proudly promote the great local produce Essex has to offer.

Food Trading Manager, Stewart Linehan commented;

“Finding local food is a real passion of ours and we now support nearly 40 local producers. We are very proud of what our county has to offer and enjoy sharing it with our customers under our ‘The Only Way is Local’ support your Essex producer branding”.

The Society not only stocks local suppliers, but works with them and looks out for business opportunities to help them develop.

This perhaps was partly why the Society also won the final award of the night which was the Essex Life Food and Drink Hero. This award is in recognition of a champion of all that is great about the Essex food and drink scene.

Society Marketing & PR Manager said;

“To win this award is absolutely amazing and is a true accolade to all our producers to whom we have a real affinity with. Hopefully, the press we get will reach other producers we have yet to meet.”
