A Chelmsford nursery has been awarded an ‘outstanding’ ranking following a visit from Ofsted and has held an open day in celebration.

Busy Bees Nursery held an open day to celebrate both the report as well as its change in name.

Leapfrog Day Nursery officially became a Busy Bees Nursery after Leapfrog nurseries were bought by Busy Bees in 2007.

The nursery was officially opened by the mayor of Chelmsford, Bob Shepherd, and his wife Doreen.

Lots of fun activities were held for families to enjoy and the event raised £350, which will be donated to the nursery’s sponsored charity, Winston’s Wish.

Nursery manager Clare Ford said: “Everyone had a great time. The children loved the face painting and bouncy castle, and it was a great opportunity for the parents to see what we do in nursery.

“We’re really pleased with our outstanding Ofsted result, and feel it is well deserved.

“All the staff work hard and recognise the children’s care and safety is of the greatest importance, so it was a great opportunity to shout about our achievement and share it with the community.”
