The New Year has started White and Bright! New Year's day saw us in North Pembrokeshire with 3/4 inches of snow. Stunningly pretty but the ice and snow are causing a few problems particularly on ungritted side roads and indeed some B roads. We are unable to get out of our drive as with temperatures dropping to -12 C this morning our drive is rather like an ice rink.
However do spare a thought for the Staff at the National Botanic Garden of Wales as they are battling to open the attraction at 10am today.
Head of facilities Clive Edwards said: “We have a wedding party here today so everyone is pitching in to clear the snow and make the place safe – it is literally going to be a ‘white’ wedding!
“There is a lot of snow about the place – especially in the car park - but, if you are careful, everything is fine.”
Entry to the Garden is free throughout January which is the first month of the Garden’s 10th anniversary – it first opened on May 24 2000.
The licensed restaurant and shop are open as usual.
The Garden is open every day (except Christmas Day). Opening times are 10am-3.30pm.
