Glen Miller Orchestra - Directed by Ray McVay
Ray McVay presents one of the world's greatest big bands live in concert, bringing the 40's back to Carlisle! Come and hear the music that got us through the war with smiles on our faces and laid the foundations of pop right up to the present day - including the song that became pop history's first gold disc, Chattanooga Choo Choo!.
The show also features the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders, the sublime vocals of Catherine Skyes and Colin Anthony as well as the swinging jazz band, The Uptown Hall Gang.
You'll hear the original arrangements of classic wartime chart toppers including: In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, Little Brown Jug and Tuxedo Junction to name but a few. Audiences of all ages will be thrilled by the sound of this amazing Big Band. And for the lovers of Big Band music: 'Tribute to the Big Bands' which will include Ted Heath! This is a perfect night out for Big Band aficionados! Come along and enjoy 'real music played by U.K.'s top musicians!
